Well. we managed to get together and be creative in June this year. Good times as always when we meet up and a songwriting session that resulted in six or seven recordings of chords, melodies as framework for new songs. A few pictures from that time was published here before our website was hacked and disappeared from the web for quite some time.
We had announced a break from posting pictures on Instagram, but since the website crashed we thought it was important to get that thing going again and hence we picked it up in July. Our social media platforms have been running as usual since then and in December the website was restored and on the Internet again. (There are still a few things that need to be done until it’s working as it should but most things are as they should be. December
The collaboration with an artist to sing on a new track kept going throughout the summer and early fall. We got together a few times and texted about changes and variations, but came to the conclusion that this is not the track for us to do together. Perhaps we’ll find something further on up the road and perhaps not. It’s still nice to collaborate with others and it doesn’t have to mount up to something we publish, just doing things with others is important to get energy and being creative. Since the song is a fall song we might release it next autumn.
New songs were to be published this fall, but to be honest they were not really new to us. During the creation of the album “Beyond billbored” a few years back, we had some really nice tracks that got finished just after deadline and didn’t make the album. As the following album “The House of the Setting Sun” intended to put the listeners in a cabin with songs of a similar feel and instrumentation, these tracks didn’t really fit in there either. So, we actually thought we had two great songs that just needed a final polish and then would constitute a fantastic new single. Single was released October 30 and we were happy to meet up digitally with The David Bowers Awards again to have a chat about and get the songs on radio!
One alter ego Yo left us this autumn. The first time the two cats Yo and Yo featured our lyric videos was ten years ago in the second track of our Christmas single “Down on my Knees“. They have been in other lyric videos as well and in pictures on Facebook, Instagram and probably Twitter (X) too. The striped Yo is still around and has a young friend called Mozart. He came to the house this summer and the black Yo was such a great older “sibling” or “extra dad” that it was such a shame they didn’t get more time together. Still good that they did get to spend a happy summer together.
Now, during the holidays, we hope to catch up with a lot of things and hopefully find time and inspiration to work on new songs. We wish you all the best and hope this year will end in a good way.
