Spring and summer

This little guy had to run across the road in front of a car and is no longer with us. It’s sad, but still not much to do about. The single “You will always be” was released as planned and it seems some of our regular listeners have found it. We have cut down on promotion, and similar, in order to make time for being creative and finding inspiration. As an effect we, of course, don’t have as many listeners, but to us the main thing still is creating new interesting music and not so much becoming world famous. Hence, we have had a good springtime with lots of ideas and as usual we have to scrap most of them. It’s always most fun to come up with ideas, you don’t really have to pursue all those crazy things.

During summer the real work on a number of new songs started. Stephen Carlson, a great guitarist living in Norway, came to visit the one Yo that is his childhood friend. We started playing and recording stuff at the age of 8 or 9 and took guitar lessons together when we were 13. There were a lot of blues going on whilst learning how to play and therefore one Yo wrote the most simple lyrics ever to create space for three guitar solos. When Stephen came to visit, he laid down some evil guitar playing on this track, and this song will be released in August this year as a single. It’s a plain simple blues with three guitar solos, saving Stephen for the last one, and we hope you will enjoy our effort of making traditional blues in the AI age.

The new songs we are making are a bit out of the average. As we get confronted with AI music, and reflect on teaching of how to compose, we strive to think different. Let’s not stick to a number of bars that can be divided by four. Let’s try to skip the second part of a verse and maybe do unexpected chord variations. Let’s try to create new songs that are truly new. Of course there are things that will be recognizable from our previous releases, but the aim is to do things that AI couldn’t come up with and try our best to be human. As a result of this line of thought there will be mainly instruments played “live” and recorded and very little computer generated stuff. Not that we’ve used a lot of digital arpeggios and similar before, but we hope to bring as much life to the EP, or album, that is developing as possible.

Thanks for taking your time reading this. We will be back soon to let you know more about the upcoming single and more.
